Report of Orientation Programme at DoES, USoVSAS

The Department of Environmental Science, University School of Vocational Studies and Applied Science successfully organised an Orientation Program for the new batches of students viz. B.Sc. (Hons.) in Environmental Science, M. Sc. in Environmental Science and Ph. D. program on the 8 th of August, 2024 (Thursday). The event was attended by Dr. Bhaswati Banerjee, Head of the Department, all the faculty members, freshers,students from senior batch of M.Sc. program and research scholars. At the outset, Dr. Bhaswati Banerjee, Head of the Department welcomed the new students to the department and made them acquainted about various aspects of the department and programs run under it. Emphasizing on the importance of punctuality and regularity, she encouraged the students to attend the classes sincerely by stating that “being regular and attentive in lectures is like being half prepared for the examinations”. She introduced Prof. N. P. Melkania in absentia who is the senior most faculty of the Department and serving the university in the capacity of Dean, USoVSAS and USoBT as well as Dean, Academics.
