Gautam Buddha University celebrated “World Food Day” on October 16, 2023. The function was organized by the University School of Vocational Studies and Applied Sciences with lead contribution from the Department of Food Processing and Technology, and Department of Environmental Science. This year, the World Food Day theme was “'Water is Life. Water is Food. Leave No One Behind”. This day is celebrated worldwide to commemorate the founding of Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations on October 16, 1945. The Vice Chancellor of Gautam Buddha University Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sinha Ji, Dr. Vishwas Tripathi, Registrar of the University; Prof. N.P. Melkania, Dean-Academics, Dean University School of Vocational Studies and Applied Sciences, and Dean, University School of Biotechnology; Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dean I/C, Student Affairs; Dr. Bhaswati Banerjee, Head, Department of Environmental Science; Dr. Md. Tashfeen Ashraf, Head, Department of Food Processing Technology; Dean of various Schools, Director (Works), Head of different Departments, faculty members, research scholars, students and non-teaching staff were among those who attended the programme.
