Students of Department of Architecture and Regional Planning,Gautam Buddha University Organize Groundbreaking Concrete Workshop Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, India - September 26, 2023:In a remarkable achievement that marks a first in India, students from the Department of Architecture and Planning at Gautam Buddha University have successfully organized a pioneering concrete workshop. This groundbreaking endeavor, held in the Engineering "B" Block of the university, showcased the dedication and innovation of the budding architects and interior designers. Under the visionary guidance of Ar. Madhuri Agarwal, Head of the Department of Architecture, this exceptional workshop took place from September 21 to September 25, 2023. The highlight of this workshop was the creation of a meticulously detailed concrete model of a house, scaled down to an impressive 1:10 scale. The students' dedication and skill were on full display as they utilized various building materials, including cement, gravel, pit sand, rebar, and wire, to construct this remarkable model. The meticulous detailing of the construction process saw rebar reinforcements expertly tied together with copper and iron wire in the pillars, beams, and lintels. The walls of the model were constructed using cement bricks, while the pillars, beams, and lintels were crafted from M-20 grade concrete mortar. This meticulous attention to detail and the use of genuine construction techniques made this workshop a truly unique and valuable experience for the participating students. The success of this workshop can be attributed to the relentless efforts of both the students and the dedicated faculty members from the Department of Architecture. Leading the way were esteemed architects, including Architect Shahnawaz Khan, Architect Arun Kumar Upadhyay, Architect Alok Verma, and Architect Rajesh Kumar, who provided invaluable guidance throughout the project. The success of this workshop would not have been possible without the exceptional teamwork and dedication of student coordinators Mr. Dhiresh Singh, Sagar Pandit, and Sandeep Kumar, who encouraged their fellow students throughout the construction process.Their commitment and passion were recognized and appreciated by Dr. Kirti Pal, Dean of Gautam Buddha University, who expressed his admiration and extended his best wishes for their bright futures. Furthermore, the second, third-year and forth-year B.Arch students provided unwavering support to their peers involved in the workshop, demonstrating the strong sense of camaraderie within the department. In conclusion, the Gautam Buddha University's Department of Architecture has set a remarkable precedent with its inaugural concrete workshop. This innovative project not only showcased the students' immense talent and dedication but also introduced them to real-world construction techniques.
