The School of Biotechnology is located in a state of the art building which incorporates both teaching and research facilities. The entire school building, including the lecture halls, teaching and research laboratories and school library are centrally air-conditioned and equipped with round the clock internet connectivity. Students here are educated in classical as well as modern biotechnology using the latest pedagogy techniques and also provided opportunity of hands on laboratory training. Biotechnology combines disciplines like genetics,molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology and cell biology, which are in turn linked to practical disciplines like chemical engineering, informationtechnology, and biorobotics.

The School of Biotechnology emphasizes on Biotechnology education programme with an impetus to generate a workforce that could turn into a substantially trainedpool to meet the countrys demands. The school is dedicated to provide quality service through teamwork, partnerships, and developing team and individual strengths. Patentingof innovations, technology transfer to industries and close interaction with them have given a new direction to Biotechnology research in the world today. The Schoolis an active centre of basic and applied research and aims to achieve a balance of pure basic, strategic basic, applied and experimental development research.

MoU signed between GBU, Greater Noida and ICAR-NBAGR, Karnal (2013-2017) for facilitating PhD research work
MoU signed between GBU and CSIR-IIMR, Pusa, New Delhi, for five years (2016-2012) for joint research and facilitation for students to carry out dissertation/PhD research work
